Home / Safeguarding Children & Young People at Ronald McDonald House WA
Recognise the signs that a child or teen may be at risk.
We provide our team members and volunteers training and embed SCYP-related expectations and considerations into role success profiles, job postings, interviews, onboarding and performance evaluations to reinforce a culture of safeguarding.
Know how to take action to help keep everyone safe.
We have people on our team called Child Safety Champions. They are here to help if something is making someone feel sad, unsafe or worried. If someone at Ronald McDonald House WA feels that way, they can talk to a volunteer or staff member, and they will find a Child Safety Champion to help.
At Ronald McDonald House WA, all team members must report, immediately, any instance, allegation, disclosure or reasonable concern of abuse or neglect of a child or young person arising from an action by an employee or volunteer within our organisation.
If a child or young person is at imminent risk of harm or in immediate danger, our team members are required to report the situation directly to the WA Police on 131 444.
Capture the information to build a picture.
We maintain a secure internal safety reporting platform designed to support the proactive safeguarding of children and young people. The platform enables staff to promptly report, record, and monitor any concerns, incidents, or behaviours that may pose a risk of harm.
These policies and resources guide our practices and reinforce our dedication to child safety.
