Food

We ask for certain types of food donations to make things easier and safer for the families we support. Our families share a kitchen, so single-serve items are best. We also keep our space nut-free for allergy safety, and smaller portions are easier to share than large packs. Following these guidelines helps us make sure every family can enjoy your generous gifts.

  • Individually wrapped chips, crackers and popcorn
  • Single serve continental pasta or Easy Mac
  • Single serve tins of fish
  • Single serve tins of beans or spaghetti

  • Nut free muesli bars and fruit sticks
  • Single serve jelly cups and fruit cups
  • Boxes of single-serve porridge

  • Single serve cup-a-soup
  • Juice boxes
  • Single serve biscuits
  • Single serve gluten free food

Personal care and baby supplies

We welcome toiletries donations that help all our families feel cared for. Some families stay just one night, others for months, so smaller bottles (around 100ml) are perfect. Large bottles can’t be shared easily. We also need supplies for adults, as many families arrive with only the clothes on their backs. Think of the everyday essentials we all use daily. Your donations make a real difference!

Many of our families have to travel to Perth with little to no notice. Some families stay just one night, others for months, so smaller bottles (around 100ml) are perfect as large bottle can’t easily be shared. Personal care items help make their stay a little bit easier:

Seasonal Gifts

Every year, in the lead-up to Christmas, we run “Santa’s Outback Workshop” at the Ronald McDonald House at QEII. It’s a special time when parents and carers staying with us can choose gifts for their children, and then our team of “volunt‑elfs” lovingly wrap each present. On Christmas morning, every child and their siblings staying with us receive three presents each, creating a moment of joy and wonder in what can be a challenging time. Every gift, big or small, helps create magical moments of happiness, laughter, and connection. Your support helps make Christmas morning special for the children and teens who need it most.

In the lead up to December, we seek the following to assist with the festivities:

  • Toys (new and in original packaging)
  • Books
  • Games
  • Gift cards

Help us make Santa’s job even merrier by ensuring all your generous gifts are in our hands by 11 December please email [email protected] to arrange a drop off time or call (08) 9346 9000.
