Volunteer Estell is a NICU Nurse

Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the local community and give back, but it also gives people the chance to kickstart their career. Did you know 95% of employers believe volunteering is a great way to gain real-world experience (i) and serves as an advantage in job interviews? That’s exactly why Estelle, paediatric nursing student, started volunteering at Ronald McDonald House WA.

We are all conscious of how important it is to look after our mental and emotional wellbeing. You only need to scroll through your newsfeed to be bombarded with tips on meditation – motivation – exhalation. But did you know that volunteering has been found to improve self-assessed mental wellbeing, self-esteem, happiness, and satisfaction with life?[i]  

Volunteer Megan enjoys being a Pathfinder

We would like to introduce you to Megan, one of our longstanding volunteers and proud Pathfinder! Megan said she loves her existing role as a Pathfinder at Perth Children’s Hospital and is keen to replicate its success at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
